Mind & Pain Care

Chronic Pain Education & Coaching
Chronic Pain Education & Peer Coaching started with a small circle of us-veterans, injured workers, and caregivers-sitting together and saying, "I thought I was the only one." We realized most of us had never had chronic pain, CRPS, or nervous‑system disorders truly explained in plain language. So we built the group we all needed.
Our Pain Education Workshops are interactive conversations, not lectures. We break down how chronic pain rewires the brain and body, why symptoms can seem "out of proportion," and how trauma, sleep, and stress pour gasoline on the fire. You'll learn realistic management strategies you can actually use: pacing, flare planning, preparing for appointment days, and questions to ask providers so you stop walking out feeling dismissed.
Side‑by‑side with education, we offer Peer Support Group Facilitation. These guided groups bring together veterans, spouses, caregivers, and anyone living with long‑term pain. We set ground rules for safety and respect, then make space for the hard stuff-anger, fear of the future, suicidal thoughts tied to pain-along with the small victories, like finally getting a diagnosis or making it through a tough anniversary.
Peer coaching is woven throughout. We share scripts for self‑advocacy, tips for navigating the VA or private systems, and ways to talk with family who "don't get it" yet. You'll leave with both information and real‑life ideas from people walking a similar road.
If you've felt lost in medical jargon, brushed off, or completely alone with your symptoms, this space is for you. Here, your experience is believed, your questions are welcomed, and your voice matters as much as any expert in the room.
